I’m Jon,  a 53 year old internet marketer with a little over two years experience. Internet marketing explained is the result of that experience. Not much I hear you say, and fair comment, but long enough to make lots of mistakes and lose a boatload lot of cash!

However I have learned much over the last two years and I have been conned, scammed, misled, robbed, and gut wrenchingly disappointed and I believe that I can save my readers much of that pain and anguish if you can spare  me a little of your valuable time.

At internet marketing explained you will find no hype, false promises or the usual upsells and scarcity bollucks that I see everywhere! I am sick of my e-mail inbox being filled with silver bullet crap and promises from big named marketers who should be above promoting rehashed rubbish to make a quick buck out of newbies. It is my own fault of course because over the past 2 years, scared of missing something I have signed up for so many lists in order to get the latest report or training, but with all the stuff I bought and read and downloaded, nobody protected me from some basic mistakes that could have saved me from so much pain, frustration and disappointment, not to mention losing $1000s and 1000s of hard working hours!

Save Yourself S1000s in time and money on Internet Marketing Explained?

I want to try to do that for you over a series of short posts on Internet Marketing Explained. I want you to benefit from my experience so that you can get it right much sooner than I did, and I wish so much that someone would have done this for me two years ago. Here are a few important bullet points that I will expand on in due course.

• There is no magic bullet – There are many great automation tools to save you many hours of work, but there will alwaysl be some work required from you to build a solid business and income. So stop looking for the push button solution, signing up to hundreds of lists, buying the next big product and jumping from system to system. Don’t get paralysed as I was by information overload, learn the basic principles from those you trust, you are not missing anything from all those hyped e-mails and salespages.
• Internet marketing explained in simple terms is to find what people want and give it to them – To do this you need to perfect your keyword research – I got this badly wrong and wasted 1000s of hours writing articles and building webpapes that got me nowhere. Either the traffic was too low, or the competition was too high. I now use reliable resarch tools to save my valuable time and get the best , most valuable keywords. Get this wrong and you are truly sunk as I was.
• Realise that people search the internet for free information, and they do not like being sold, neither do you and I!. Always aim give value, build relationships, over deliver on your promises,and show that you are trustworthy.
• Learn to drive traffic, particularly by on and off page search engine optmization. Search engine traffic is the best converting traffic. Start soon producing content on profitable keywords as this will pay you dividends long into the future.  Social Bookmarks will give you backlinks which will get your pages up the search engine rankings but the traffic rarely clicks or buys compared to Google or traffic from other seach engines . Quality targeted paid traffic is very expensive, and PPC advertising is a science. I lost many $100s before I made anything.

• Learn to build a list – Most people will leave your website never to return. If you have their e-mail address, you can build a relationship over time, give them real value, and they will buy from you.
• Do not strive to be an expert at everyting – you will get overloaded and get nothing done, which is what happened to me. There are so many ways to make money online and you cannot learn them all. Concentrate on a couple of things and get them right, this will be time well spent.
